ANNAMALAI

The main focus is the Annamalaiyar temple in AlwarKurichi. The temple and the incidents surrounding it are full of mysteries. Sudhadi Chittan is one such example who shows up anywhere and gives clue of what's in store for the future. With other elements like Sangu Mandapam, Kovil Paati (played by Radikaa herself), the painting on the temple walls, the carvings at the river bank, the mysterious death of people who go near the Sangu Mandapam and "Sangu Kalai" movement at night add thrill to this serial.

At first it was all about the fight for the temple rights between two families. One family is Patalathar family which consists of Aachi (Pasi Satya), Pathalathar, Thavasi Pillai (Siva Kumar), Visalam - Thavasi's wife (Kuyili), Nala Sivam, Annamalai - daughter (Neena at first, later Radhika) and Nambi - youngest son. The other family consists of Ghandhimathi Ammal (Jothi Laxmi), Ulaganathan (SPB Charan, later Syam Ganesh), Valiammal (Devadarshini), Gomathy Nayagam (Ponvannan).

Annamalai is considered as God's child. An astrologer predicts that after Annamalai gets married to the person whom she loves, she will leave the family forever. In spite of this, she gets engaged to Ulaganathan after crossing lot of hurdles. Even after marriage, these problems never seemed to cease; which leads to their separation. Later on, the story moves forward to the city (Chennai), where Annamalai fight against evils and re-unite with her family.
