APARRAJITAA
Sreedharan, Lakshmi were living happily. For this couple, a blessing from God comes its way, as Lakshmi gets pregnant. Vasu, Lakshmi’s brother takes care of his sister very keenly in her pregnancy period. While they are on their way on a holy trip, Lakshmi delivery takes place in a village. Lakshmi gives birth to a baby boy. Excited, Vasu gets back to his sister, but a shock awaits him there. The newborn baby boy, delivered by Lakshmi is found dead. Vasu curses destiny and agonizes to God for such cruelty. Vasu hears the sound of the unknown baby cry in the temple and rushes to the spot and carries the baby with him saying it is born to her sister. Vasu also takes the deceased baby boy and hands it to the undertaker of the graveyard and instructs him to do the burial.
But, the chapter is not over. When the baby boy is about to be buried, the graveyard witnesses heavy rain and thunder. The drops of rain and the deafening thunder miraculously spring the infant back to life. As per the wishes of the undertaker’s wife, Sreedharan’s son grows up to be Siva, the undertaker’s son. Back at Sreedharan’s place, the adopted daughter grows up as Jyothi. Though only Vasu knows this secret. Destiny played its game as these two lives swapped places to see different livelihoods and distinct ways of parenting. The happiness of Sreedharan, Lakshmi and Vasu did not last long enough. It was until the time Lakshmi conceived again. Lakshmi gives birth much to her joy a set of twins. But Vasu undergoes a mental trauma, as he feels awkward to see Jyothi who is someone else’s child, growing up as the daughter here. Vasu wonders if he acted in haste back at the village. He plans to totally clean up the issue of Jyothi.
In parallel, Sreedharan has an age-old rival. But as a twist, it is ill fated that his own son Shiva shall join this rival as a trusted person, and act against Sreedharan. Later, when the twins of Sreedharan and Lakshmi realize that their elder sister is not their real sibling, they undergo a change thereby becoming selfish. For Vasu the secret within him starts to suffocate him. At one juncture, Jyothi’s real mother also comes back. Did Jyothi oppose those who were committing wrong or did she accept and forgive those who repented and realized their mistakes? Aparrajitaa is the story that shall see the will power and the boldness of Jyothi in the times to come.
