KOTEESWARAN

There have been a lot of game shows in Tamil, but Koteeswaran, produced by Radaan Mediaworks has topped the list as a best. Unlike the other shows where in people can earn only minimum money, this game show gives an opportunity to earn upto 1 crore. This show was hosted by Mr. R. Sarathkumar, who has proved a successful host after Amitabh Bachchan of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Sarathkumar, a renowned actor, has acted in more than 100 films in regional languages. He is well known for his acting skills and most of all in action movies.

The rules for playing in the show are very simple. All contestants must be over the age of 18 and a citizen of India in order to be eligible. The host introduces the ten contestants of the episode and asks them all the same question. The contestants must then arrange the answers in the order described in the question. The contestant that places the four options in the correct order in the fastest time gets the chance to go on the "hot seat". At the hot seat, the contestant is asked a series of general knowledge questions consistently rising in difficulty with every question, which has four options.

The contestant wins a certain amount of money with each correct answer. The money won after each question is roughly doubled from the previous amount won. The contestant can win from minimum of Rs.1000 to a maximum of Rs.1 Crore. To make the show simpler and interesting, three lifelines are given to the “hot seat” contestant. The lifelines are Audience Poll, Phone a Friend and Fifty-Fifty. The contestant may choose to give up and retain the money they have already won if they decide not to answer the currently shown question. This show has been one of the most innovative, informative and entertaining to the audience.
